This journey takes us through Northern California and Southern Oregon — lands rich with legends, told both by Native American tribes and early European settlers.
Mount Shasta, a dormant volcano, is a sacred mountain for local tribes and a place surrounded by countless myths — both ancient and modern. It also appears in various spiritual traditions. We will explore its most iconic and “sacred” locations, hike beautiful trails, swim in crystal-clear lakes and rivers, and immerse ourselves in the stories and mysteries of this remarkable place.
Crater Lake National Park is a true hidden gem — breathtakingly beautiful and far less crowded than many other national parks. The lake was formed after the eruption of Mount Mazama, an event remembered in Native oral history. Local legends speak of Llao, a spirit of the underworld believed to dwell beneath the lake. Even today, the area carries a sense of mystery and wonder.
Along the Northern California coast, we will visit ancient redwood forests that have never been logged. These remote, untouched landscapes feel truly unique — quiet, powerful, and unlike anywhere else on Earth. Walking among these giants is an unforgettable experience.
We return to San Francisco via the iconic Highway 1. The northern section of this coastal road is just as stunning as its more famous southern stretch. Along the way, we’ll explore charming seaside towns, including Eureka.
This trip is designed for active travelers of all levels. Daily hikes range from 5 to 8 miles, with plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings at a comfortable pace. We stay in comfortable hotels and lodges and enjoy meals at local restaurants.
Children aged 12+ are welcome on this trip, and special discounted pricing is available for younger participants.
